How to choose
Start from the neck finish of the bottle already chosen, never the other way round: the bottle leads, the valve follows. Then validate chemical compatibility, because alcohol-based formulas such as fragrance seize a standard valve within weeks and need an alcohol-resistant component. Confirm output per stroke against viscosity, since a thick formula in a low-output valve comes out in uneven bursts. Finally decide on a shipping lock, close to mandatory for e-commerce.

What does 24/410 mean on a valve?
It is the neck finish, the standardised measurement of the opening. The 24 is the outer diameter of the neck in millimetres. The 410 is a standard code defining thread height and pitch, meaning the angle and number of turns. Together the two numbers describe the complete geometry of the fit, which is what allows buying the bottle from one supplier and the valve from another with confidence they will match.
Why are 24/410 and 20/410 not interchangeable?
Because the first number is the diameter, and it changes: 24 mm against 20 mm. Even with the same second number describing the thread standard, a 20 mm neck is physically narrower and a 24 mm valve will not thread onto it. The matching 410 misleads many people, but it only says the thread type is the same, not the diameter.
Can I change the valve without changing the bottle?
Yes, as long as the neck finish stays the same. A 24/410 bottle accepts any 24/410 closure, whether flip top, disc top, pump or spray, including from different suppliers. That is exactly why the standard exists, and it is what allows changing the product experience without redoing the bottle.
What is the difference between flip top and disc top?
A flip top opens a hinged lid revealing an orifice, suited to products that pour such as shampoo. A disc top has a disc pressed on one side that rises on the other, with a wider opening and one-handed actuation, common on conditioner and thicker creams. The choice changes dose per actuation and how the product feels in use.
