They suit pressed powder, blush, eyeshadow, highlighter and cream foundation, and allow touch-ups away from home. How to choose
Confirm pan diameter first and whether the factory already has tooling for it, because new tooling weighs on both cost and lead time. Assess the hinge, which is the most common failure point: a cheap compact breaks at the hinge after a few dozen openings and turns into complaints. If there is a mirror, check how it is fixed, since a mirror glued without a seat comes loose with temperature swings.

What is a pan in makeup packaging?
The pan is the shallow dish, almost always aluminium, where powder is pressed before being fitted into the compact. Pan diameter sets the usable product size and has to match the pressing tooling. That is why compact and pan are chosen together, never in separate steps.
Do pressed powder and cream products use the same compact?
The body can be the same, but the interior changes. Pressed powder needs a metal pan that withstands pressing. Cream product is filled directly into the seat and needs better sealing, because cream dries at the edges when exposed. Confirm which configuration the compact accepts before signing off.
