Tubes for cosmetics
A tube is the flexible pack squeezed to release product, closed with a screw cap, flip top or applicator nozzle. It suits cream, gel, scrub, mask and sunscreen, and travels well because it does not break. The archive holds over 100 options, from 5 to 460 ml and from 10 to 500 g.
Tubes deliver controlled dosing at low cost and take little space in transit. Barrier depends on wall structure: monolayer suits stable formulas, while multilayer with a barrier protects oxygen-sensitive actives. Formulas with essential oils in a thin tube can migrate through the wall over time.

How to choose
Set the wall structure by formula: monolayer for stable creams and gels, multilayer with a barrier layer for oxygen-sensitive actives, high fragrance loads or oils that could migrate. Choose diameter together with volume, because the same volume in a smaller diameter makes a longer tube, which changes the look and the print area. Then the closure: screw cap, flip top or applicator nozzle for targeted use. Tubes are filled from the bottom and sealed on the filling line.

Monolayer or multilayer tube for sunscreen?
Multilayer, in most cases. Sunscreen usually carries filters and oily emollients that can migrate through the wall of a thin monolayer tube, staining the decoration or changing the formula over time. A multilayer tube with a barrier layer reduces exchange with the environment. A stability test in the final tube confirms the choice.
How is a tube closed after filling?
The tube reaches the factory open at the bottom with the cap already fitted. Product is filled from below, and the end is sealed by heat or ultrasound, forming the straight seal seen at the tip. That seal can also carry the batch and expiry coding. That is why the tube is chosen alongside the factory's filling capability.
Flip top or screw cap on a tube?
A flip top opens one-handed and is practical for daily use, such as hand cream and gel. A screw cap seals better and suits products used less often or an orifice that needs a tamper seal. An elongated applicator nozzle suits targeted use, such as treating a small area. The choice does not change the formula, only the experience.
Does a recycled or renewable-content tube change anything?
It can change appearance and barrier. Materials with recycled or renewable content may have a slightly different colour and property variation between lots, which calls for testing with the formula. For the brand it is a valid environmental argument, as long as the claim is precise about what is recycled and in what proportion.
